As I took my first steps in the college, weather was crazy. Heavy rain lashed in the college. I thought, how would the students reach college when the heavens poured so heavily. Today was our orientation. I entered the hall before time. Few students also entered along. The hall was calm. I didn’t know anyone there. So, I interacted with few of them, asked them about their subjects, previous school, etc. Soon the orientation started and the hall quickly filled, packed with students each one weaing different coloured cloths and different outfits. Orientation started with Principal Sir addressing the students. We got to know so much about the College through orientation. We came to know about Add-on Courses, Certificate Courses, college’s annual calendar, NSS, Buddy program, Anti-Ragging Cell, Scholarship Schemes, Co-curricular Activities, Women Cell, clubs and societies, NCC, sports, etc. We walked through all these topics one by one.
As I left the hall, the weather was clear. Sheets of rain had stopped already. I visited some classrooms. The college had 6 computer labs. I also interacted with professors a bit. After that we went to the canteen. It had different items on it’s menu. We ordered few to taste them and guess what? The canteen also soon became full of students. The starting didn’t come with sunshine but I must agree that it came with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement. By the ending, we were full of new knowledge and information, helpful for our upcoming days in college.
