Punjabi University Set to Reach New Heights Under the Leadership of Sikh Punjabi VC, Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh

Patiala: The Punjab government has given the additional charge of Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala, to Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, the current Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar. With his vast academic expertise and administrative experience, Punjabi University is expected to achieve new heights under his leadership.

Prof. Karamjeet Singh, a Sikh Punjabi, is a highly respected academician with 38 years of teaching and research experience. He is also the founding Vice-Chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, and has previously served as Registrar of Panjab University, Chandigarh. His deep understanding of university governance and commitment to higher education make him the ideal choice for this role.

Over the years, he has held key positions such as Dean, Faculty of Business Management & Commerce at Panjab University, Fellow (Senate Member) of Panjab University Governing Council, and President of the Indian Accounting Association. His contributions to academia have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award in Management & Leadership (2022) and the Best Administrator Award (2020).

His appointment has been widely welcomed, as he truly represents the heritage and vision of Punjabi University. His leadership is expected to drive academic reforms, financial stability, and administrative improvements, taking the university to greater heights.
