Patiala, February 9:
Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University successfully organized a 7-day NSS camp under the leadership of the university’s Registrar, Dr. Anubhav Walia. The camp was conducted under the dynamic guidance of NSS Coordinator Dr. Sanman Kaur and Program Officer Dr. Harjot Kaur.
From February 1 to 7, dedicated NSS volunteers and staff members organized camps in several villages on the outskirts of Patiala, including Siona, Lachkani, Alowal, Rorewal Sahib, Sidhuwal, and Lang.
The camp aimed to create awareness and promote community bonding through various impactful activities. During the camp, street plays were performed on crucial topics such as drug de-addiction, the dangers of single-use plastic, and the importance of literacy. A cleanliness drive was also conducted to encourage hygiene and health awareness in the villages.
Sports orientation sessions were organized in senior secondary schools to promote an active lifestyle and provide career counseling. Volunteers also visited ‘Apna Farz Sewa Society’ to gain a better understanding of community service. Additionally, awareness rallies on drug de-addiction and community service initiatives were conducted in local gurdwaras.
Cultural activities and environmental campaigns were encouraged at the RoundGlass Foundation. The university administration expressed gratitude to all staff members, enthusiastic NSS volunteers, local village institutions, and school organizations for their collective efforts in making the initiative a resounding success.
