Datasinghwala-Khanouri: The hunger strike of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal entered its 73rd day today. In a video message, he urged all farmers to attend the Mahapanchayats scheduled for February 11 at Ratanpura Morcha, February 12 at Datasinghwala-Khanouri Morcha, and February 13 at Shambhu Morcha.
Today, the second batch of farmers from Haryana reached the Datasinghwala-Khanouri farmers’ protest site, bringing water from their fields. Farmers from over 50 villages, including Binjaul, Taharpur, Kakkador, Titaram, Kurar, Umra, Depal, Kharar Alipur, Dhundheri, Khokha, Guhana, Sogri, Phullan, Ratia, Dhani Badanpur, Dhani Dadupur, Amargarh, Hukmanwali, Malewala, Mehimra, Latheira, Lamba, Kamana, Chimo, Gadhi Bhalor, Dhanouri, Amargarh, Fakhal, Nepewala, Harsola, Kheri Chaupatta, Chhatar, Singhnal, Aharwa, Hadauli, Ajitnagar, Pilchiya, Laghuwas, Brahmanwala, Rozanwale, Bhaini Khera, Lakkarwala, Jandwala, Sukhchain, Kasaan, and Hamirgarh, arrived with water for the ongoing protest.
Additionally, two youth from different villages brought sacred water from the Ganges in Haridwar to the protest site today.
Farmers’ leaders announced that the next batch of farmers from Haryana will arrive on February 8 and 10. They also urged farmers to join in large numbers for the Mahapanchayat on February 12, marking one year of the farmers’ movement at the Datasinghwala-Khanouri protest site.
