Military Literature Festival to Restore Patiala’s Glory at Khalsa College on February 16

Patiala, January 30:

As part of the Patiala Heritage Festival, the third Military Literature Festival will be held on February 16 at Khalsa College, Patiala. The festival’s poster was unveiled by Lieutenant General (Retd.) Chetinder Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, Brigadier Advitya Madan, ADC (Urban Development) Navreet Kaur Sekhon, and PPSC Secretary Charanjit Singh. These officials also held a meeting to finalize the event’s schedule and arrangements.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav stated that, following Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s announcement to organize Military Literature Festivals across all districts of the state, Patiala has become the first district to host the festival for the third consecutive time. She invited the people of Patiala to participate wholeheartedly and enjoy the festival, which has free entry.

Dr. Yadav further detailed the festival’s itinerary, which includes:

• Floral tributes at the Cenotaph near YPS Chowk

• Braveheart Motorcycle Rally from Polo Ground

• Parade and Band Display at Khalsa College

• Exhibitions showcasing military tanks, war equipment, ancient artifacts, and rare postage stamps

• Live performances depicting valor and bravery, including war dances, Gatka (Sikh martial arts), and archery demonstrations

• Equestrian Show

• Counseling sessions for recruitment in the Army, ITBP, and Police

• Food Court offering a variety of delicacies

The event aims to honor India’s military legacy, educate youth about the armed forces, and provide career guidance for those interested in joining the defense services.
