To ensure the implementation of the written demands accepted by the government and the promises made, Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s hunger strike at the Datasingh Wala-Khanauri Kisan Morcha entered its 66th day today (January 30, 2025).
At the Khanauri Kisan Morcha, the concluding ceremony of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was held today, after which Kirtani Jathas performed kirtan, uplifting the spirits of the gathered devotees.
Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh Ji from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, visited the Khanauri Kisan Morcha to meet Jagjit Singh Dallewal and check on his health. He also offered prayers for Dallewal’s well-being.
Farmers’ leaders revealed that Dallewal had expressed a wish to bow before Guru Granth Sahib Ji and pay homage to the Almighty. However, after doing so and being brought back in a trolley, he developed a fever due to extreme physical weakness, making even slight movements unbearable for him.
The farmers’ leaders also stated that as the one-year anniversary of the ongoing protest at the borders since February 13, 2024, approaches, Kisan Mahapanchayats will be held on:
• February 11 at Ratanpura Kisan Morcha
• February 12 at Khanauri Kisan Morcha
• February 13 at Shambhu Kisan Morcha
Lakhs of farmers from across the country are expected to participate in these gatherings. To mobilize support, meetings are being held in villages across the nation.
