• Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav visits the new bus stand.
Patiala, January 20
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav of Patiala visited the new bus stand this evening and directed officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and NH Division to construct a 126-meter long permanent road to address the traffic issues in front of the bus stand.
Dr. Preeti Yadav explained that the traffic jams outside the bus stand cause difficulties for the public. To resolve pedestrian problems, a new road will be constructed on the PDEA land in front of the bus stand. This road will allow buses entering the bus stand to take a new route connecting to the bridge leading to the bus stand, easing traffic flow into the city.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the PWD and National Highway Division officials to expedite the construction of this road and complete the work within a set timeframe. She also reviewed the ongoing construction of roads for e-rickshaws and footpaths for pedestrians leading to the new bus stand.
During her visit, Dr. Yadav took serious note of the cleanliness issues at the new bus stand and reprimanded the concerned department officials, stressing that any lapse in maintaining cleanliness would not be tolerated. She emphasized that the restrooms at the bus stand should be regularly cleaned, and any damage should be promptly repaired. Dr. Yadav warned that strict action would be taken against any negligence in this regard.
On this occasion, PDEA Chief Administrator Manisha Rana, ACA Jashanpreet Kaur, SDM Patiala Gurdev Singh Dham, PWD Executives Piyush Agarwal, and Vineet Singla were also present.
