Meeting Between Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Meritorious Teachers Union Yields Promising Outcomes

Chandigarh, 18 January: A panel meeting was held at Punjab Bhavan between Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and representatives of the Meritorious Teachers Union Punjab. The meeting focused on addressing the long-standing demands of the union.

During the meeting, the Education Minister assured that the process of regularizing meritorious teachers in the Education Department is underway. He also announced that pending arrears and salary increments, delayed for several years, will soon be disbursed. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Education Secretary and representatives from the Finance Department.

The delegation from the Meritorious Teachers Union included Senior Meet President Dr. Tina, General Secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar, State Leader Boota Singh Mann, and Ashpreet Kaur. The union expressed optimism following the assurances from the government.
