GNDU Women’s Football Team Wins Silver at All India Inter-University Championship, Qualifies for Khelo India Games 2025

Amritsar, January 17, 2025:

It is a matter of immense pride that Guru Nanak Dev University Football (Women) team has secured the Silver Medal in All India Inter-University Football (Women) Championship held at GNA University, Phagwara, from January 11 to 16, 2025. 

Dr. Kanwar Mandeep Singh, Director of Sports, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team and the coach for their exemplary performance at such a prestigious platform. He commended the players for their hard work and dedication, which continues to bring laurels to the university. He also extended his sincere thanks to Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar,  thePrincipals of HMV Jalandhar, BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar, Khalsa College, Amritsar, and GNDU Campus, Amritsar, for their kind support and facilitation, which greatly contributed to the players’ preparation and performance.

Sh. Pardeep Kumar, the University Football Coach, expressed his gratitude to the Director Sports for his unwavering support and the excellent facilities provided to the team. He highlighted that this year’s competition was highly competitive, with professional teams from 16 universities across the country participating. Despite the tough challenges, the GNDU team demonstrated exceptional skills and sportsmanship to emerge as silver medalists.

The team’s outstanding performance has also qualified them to participate in the upcoming Khelo India University Games 2025, further showcasing their caliber on a national stage.
