Indian Railways Enhances Services for Mahakumbh 2025

Indian Railways has taken extensive measures to ensure smooth travel for devotees attending the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.

• Special Trains: 137 additional trains operated on Day 3, with a total of over 13,100 trains planned during the 46-day event, including 3,100 special trains.

• Passenger Amenities: 17 new Yatri Ashrayas introduced, increasing the capacity to over 1,10,000. Color-coded navigation implemented for better crowd management.

• Station Upgrades: Subedarganj developed as a satellite station; 7 new platforms added across 9 stations in the Prayagraj area, now totaling 48 platforms.

• Security Measures: Deployment of 5,900 security personnel, installation of 764 new CCTV cameras (including 116 with face recognition technology), and drone surveillance for crowd and track monitoring.

• Convenience Services: Yatri Suvidha Kendras launched at key stations offering wheelchair assistance, luggage trolleys, and essential items.

With over 3.5 crore devotees attending, Indian Railways aims to provide safe and efficient services throughout the event.
