Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on January 16, 2025. The 54-year-old actor sustained six stab wounds, including two deep injuries near his spine, while protecting his family. The intruder reportedly confronted the domestic staff and attempted to enter the bedroom of Khan’s young son, Jeh.

Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife fragment lodged in his spinal cord. Doctors also repaired leaking spinal fluid. Hospital authorities have confirmed the procedure was successful, and Khan is now stable and recovering.

During the attack, Khan’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two children were present but remained unharmed. The attacker fled the scene, and police have launched an investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and have identified a suspect. Three individuals have been detained for questioning, with suspicions of collusion with household staff.

The incident has sparked discussions about the safety of public figures in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and assured that security measures across the city would be strengthened.
