Patiala: Members of the Punjabi University Contract Teachers’ Association (PUCTA), led by their President Dr. Taranjeet Kaur, met Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, at the residence of MLA Gurlal Ghanaur to discuss their long-standing demands.

The delegation emphasized the plight of contract teachers who have been rendering their services for 10-15 years despite meeting all qualifications as per UGC guidelines. They urged the government to regularize their services and implement the 7th Pay Commission.

Dr. Gurpreet Kaur listened to their grievances with understanding and assured the delegation that their demands would be addressed soon. MLA Gurlal Ghanaur also supported the teachers and promised to raise the matter with the state government to ensure a timely resolution.

This assurance has brought hope to contract teachers who have dedicated years of service under challenging conditions. PUCTA expressed their gratitude for the positive response and remains hopeful for a prompt and favorable resolution to their issues.
