If the panel meeting is not given, Guest Faculty professors of government colleges will stage a protest on at Education Minister’s village Gambhirpur: Front leaders

Guest faculty assistant professors, who have been working in government colleges of Punjab for a long time, will stage a protest on under the leadership of United Front at Harjot Singh Bains’ village Gambhirpur, regarding their demands. The leaders of the Guest Faculty United Front have demanded a panel meeting from the Honorable Higher Education Minister by January 8. The front leaders said that in October 2024, they had a meeting with the Education Minister in which he had assured to formulate a policy to regularize the jobs of guest faculty professors within 15-20 days, but now even after three months, no action has been taken by the Higher Education Department, rather the approved vacant posts of guest faculty assistant professors are being shown as vacant in the letters issued, transfers and new joinings are being made, due to which there is huge resentment among the assistant professors. They said that we have held several meetings with the Chief Minister of Punjab, Education Minister and other ministers and MLAs, but so far they have not been given any relief. They strongly proclaim that if the panel meeting is not held by January 8, then they will be forced to hold a one-day dharna on at the Education Minister’s village Gambhirpur.
