Maha Kumbh 2025: A Seamless Blend of Tradition and Technology
Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh – Maha Kumbh 2025 is set to be a unique confluence of spirituality and technology, marking a new era for one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. With millions of devotees expected, the Uttar Pradesh government is embracing digital innovations to enhance the pilgrimage experience while ensuring safety and convenience for all attendees.
Key among the technological advancements is a robust cyber security system designed to protect devotees from online threats. A team of 56 cyber experts will monitor digital activity, and a dedicated Maha Kumbh cyber police station will work to combat online fraud and misinformation. Public awareness about cyber threats will be raised through 40 Variable Messaging Displays (VMDs) across the festival grounds.
The festival will also feature immersive digital experiences such as 360-degree virtual reality stalls, where pilgrims can experience major events like the Ganga Aarti and the Akhadas’ Peshwai procession. In the evening, a spectacular drone show will illuminate the sky, narrating mythological tales such as the “Samudra Manthan” and the spiritual significance of Prayagraj.
In terms of infrastructure, the newly created Maha Kumbh Nagar will be equipped with advanced facilities, and the land allotment process will be fully digitized for greater efficiency. GIS-based maps will guide visitors to key services, including hospitals, police stations, and food courts.
Enhanced safety measures include remote-controlled life buoys for river rescues, underwater drones for monitoring, and AI-powered surveillance cameras for crowd management.
Additionally, online booking for accommodations at Maha Kumbh Gram will open soon, offering a hassle-free way for visitors to secure their stay.
